Day 10: of Tiananmen Square & the Forbidden City
February 16, 2010 | Filed Under Siri Kembara
From our hostel to the Forbidden City, we passed the Tiananmen Square. It placed few historical monuments. The area was quite heavy guarded by the military officers wearing green jacket and red star on their shoulder. I wanted to take picture of them but most of them refused (either they turn their head away or they said ‘no!’)
Staying for a few days in Beijing, i realised that winter is not the best time to visit Beijing though you can buy most of ticket to tourist sites in a low rate. Y40 for low season price for the Forbidden City (they labelled it as ‘The Palace Museum’).

It took almost half of the day to tour around the Palace. Walked from end to end took me almost 1 1/2 hours (plus taking pictures etc). Looking at the size of the Palace itself reflects how powerful was the Emperor.
Spent the rest of the day taking pictures around the Tiananmen Square, the National Grand Theatre and along the Qianmen Street offer few good pictures to look at. I`ll share it when i`m back to Seoul.
